2022 NTUST Photography Competition


      Eligibility      
The competition is open only to individuals. Any enrolled students, faculty members and staff members at NTUST are welcome to submit their entries.

      Theme      
Entries shall present the beauty of campus, the vibrancy and humanities at NTUST, including but not limited to scenery, architecture, facilities, activities, competitions, classes, and daily life.

      Submission Dates      
Aug. 8 to 24:00 on Nov. 8, 2022 ; late applications will not be accepted.

      Submission       
Send your entries together with entry form to ntustarts@gmail.com and put “NTUST Photography Competition – Name” in the email title/header. Please name your photo file into “Entry Title.jpg”. You may choose to upload entries to a personal cloud storage and provide the organizer with a valid link. Each entrant can submit a maximum of 4 entries.

      Submission Guidelines      
(1) All entries must be the original work of the entrant, and may not have won awards in other competitions.
     All entries must be in JPG/JPEG format and have a resolution of at least 10 million pixels (4224x2376 pixels).
     Do not scale and do not change the resolution.
(2) Any equipment can be used, including smartphones, digital cameras, SLR Camera, and bridge cameras.
     Both color and monochrome photos will be accepted.
(3) Entries must have been taken during entrants' enrollment at NTUST and must not show any words, symbols or signs related to
     entrants.
(4) Only adjustments of brightness, contrast, color saturation and/or cropping is acceptable.
     Entries involved in plagiarism, copy, or reproduction of
another’s works will be disqualified.
     Any other changes to the original photos, including but not limited to dodging and burning, double exposure, sandwiching,
     piecing photos, photo composites (including increasing or decreasing the pixels), are not allowed.
     Photography series or sequence is not acceptable.

      Judging Criteria      
(1) Adherence to Theme (40%): story, content, quality, overall impact, etc.
(2) Technique (30%): composition, visual tension, appeal, aesthetic, etc.
(3) Creativity (30%): uniqueness, personal style, expression, etc.

      Awards and Prizes      
Gold (1 entry): NT$10,000 and a certificate
Silver (1 entry): NT$8,000 and a certificate
Bronze (1 entry): NT$5,000 and a certificate
Merit (3-5 entries): NT$3,000 and a certificate
Honorable Mention (5-10 entries): NT$1,000 and a certificate

*The jury reserves the right to declare an award void if entries submitted do not meet the selection criteria.

      Responsibility and Rights      
Should an Entry be deemed to involve plagiarism or infringe
another’s works or have previously won any other awards, the organizer shall revoke the entrant’s qualification and demand the return of the award and prize money. The organizer reserves the right to inspect all entries to confirm their compliance with the terms and conditions. The entrant shall agree that the copyright of the awarded work is jointly owned by the entrant and the organizer, effective henceforth on the date of the prize announcement. The organizer reserves the right to utilize (including but not limited to reproduction, modification, publication, public display, public release, exhibition) the awarded works in different formats, without additional remuneration and prior notice.

By participating in this competition, each entrant fully and unconditionally agrees to be bound by these rules and guidelines.
     The organizer reserves the right to change and amend the competition rules and guidelines.
     In the event that any changes are made, the amendment notice shall be announced immediately.
